Nichrome 60 Ribbon Wire Bare Nickel Chromium Resistance Wire 100 feet width: 1/8″ Thickness: .004″ 1.674 ohms/ft Wound on a plastic spool Picture is generic — actual picture will be added soon 60% nickel, 16% chromium, 24% iron See all my other Nichrome wire and ribbon sizes and lengths at my eBay store: Jacobs Online 40 to 8 gauge, 5 ft to 500 FT & 1 lb (lengths available vary depending on gauge, size, and type) Also transformers, dimmers, & more Shipping: Standard shipping is by first class USPS mail with tracking for USA orders (not tracked outside the USA for international orders) for all items except 50VA transformers and larger which go by USPS Priority mail. If you require faster or alternate shipping, contact me and I will give you the shipping costs for other methods. USPS is almost always cheapest which is why I use them as the default shipping method. FedEx and UPS will ship the next day, not day of order. USPS Priority can ship same day if order is received before 3:30 p.m. Pacific time. Packaging: All ribbon wire is wond on spools regardless of the length because ribbon can be damaged by smashing without the protection of a spool. Round wire is wound on cards, as open coils, or on spools depending on the size and length. Each open coil or card is also sealed in a plastic bag. About Jacobs Online: Jacobs Online LLC has been in business since 2009 and on eBay since June 2010. I have sold thousands of individual Nichrome wire items as the number one on line source and also sell transformers and other items for building simple power supplies to power the nichrome for hot wire cutting, sealing, plastic bending, and more. I buy in large quantities directly from the mill or from the nation’s largest resitance wire supplier. Questions? Feel free to contact me. Common Usages: Nichrome has two specific characteristics that make it the choice for specific applications. It’s high resistance compared to other metals and its high melting point. Uses include heat sealers, poly cutters, foam cutting, heaters of all kinds, ovens, hair dryers, resistors, rheostats, current-temperature controls, model and high power rocket motor and recovery ejection charge ignition, pyrotechnic ignition, electronic cigarettes, laboratory inoculating loops, release mechanisms, kiln heating coils, ceramic support in kilns, and many others. When used for heating, it is often coiled both to save room and to increase the temperature with the same current. Ribbon wire is used in cartridge heaters, band heaters, heat sealing, toasters, sometimes for foam cutting, and many other heating uses. More Specifications Maximum recommended temperature: 900C Withstands temperatures up to: 1150C Melting Temperature: 1350C – 1400C Density: 8400 kg/m3 Thermal Expansion: 14 X 10-6 per oC Other Names: Nichrome is actually a trade name but just as Kleenex has become a common name for tissues, Nichrome has become a common name for any alloy with the same composition. Nichrome is more specifically the 60% nickel alloy while Nichrome V is the 80% nickel alloy. There are many other trade names for the same material. Ribbon wire is also called flat wire, metal strip or slit metal. AWG? What does AWG stand for? American Wire Gauge. It is the standard set of sizes for non ferrous (iron) wire. Wire sizes are normally specified by the term AWG rather than gauge but they mean the same thing. Because there are various gauge standards around the world, it is becoming more common to list wire sizes by their actual diameter rather than by AWG or gauge. Diameters are specified in inches in the USA and mm in most other countries. Gage or Gauge? Both spellings are correct and interchangeable although some sources will try to differentiate between the spellings and depending on whether talking about thickness of material or a measuring device. The wire industry tends to use Gage but the general public in the USA tends to be more familiar with Gauge. AWG and gauge do not have any meaning for ribbon wire since it is not round and has no diameter. Ribbon wire is specified by its width and thickness.

New Midwest Tungsten Service fine wire. Specifications: Length: 25 Feet Diameter: 0.004″ (0.102 millimeters) Wire is clean and straightened. This wire, along with all sizes are stocked for immediate delivery. Orders will usually ship same day if we receive the order by 1PM CST. Otherwise, your order will ship on the next business day. Wire conforms to ASTM F288-96, Type 1A. Uses include medical devices, corona generation, vacuum heating elements, and thermionic emitters. Thank you for understanding that it is not economically feasible for us to sell package sizes smaller than what is listed here.

However, there is variation in idle temperature across tip geometries within an individual temperature series. Thermaltronics offers a wide variety of tip geometries from 0.25mm fine point tip to 5mm chisel. The length and geometry of a tip will have an influence on the tip idle temperature. To accurately measure idle temperature it will depend greatly on the measurement method, technique and equipment used. Two different methods or the use of alternative equipment will produce different test results. 2 Please refer to http://www.rohs.gov.uk for details on RoHS Compliance.
